    South Carolina: ASME CODE: Clearance between hoistway door(s) and sill(s) and car gate(s). The clearance between the hoistway doors and the hoistway edge of the landing sill shall not exceed 3 IN. The distance between the hoistway face of the landing door and the car door shall not exceed 5 IN.

    Georgia: Clearance between hoistway door(s) and sill(s) and car gate(s). The clearance between the hoistway doors and the hoistway edge of the landing sill shall not exceed 1 1/2 IN. The distant between the hoistway face of the landing door and the car door shall not exceed 3 IN.
